Updated June 2026

What's New

From a customer dispute in 2024 to a platform used by service businesses across 85 trades. Every feature, every milestone, in order.

June 2026

iPhone Experience Overhaul

Fixed a cluster of iPhone-specific display issues that had been affecting mobile users. Pages no longer load zoomed in, tapping an input field no longer triggers auto-zoom, and content is no longer hidden behind the safe area on notched devices. The app now feels native on iPhone — tap any field, scroll any screen, nothing jumps or shifts.

Scrollable Job & Settings Tabs

The job detail tab bar and the settings page tabs are now horizontally scrollable on small screens. Previously, tabs that didn't fit in the viewport were clipped or wrapped awkwardly. Now you can swipe across to reach any tab — no more squinting at a crowded row of labels.

Simplified Mobile Header

Streamlined the mobile app header to show only what matters at job-site scale. Less visual noise, more space for the content you're actually looking at. The change is subtle but makes a noticeable difference when you're moving fast between jobs.

Photo Captions

Add a short descriptive caption to any before or after photo. Captions appear directly on the customer-facing report underneath each image — no more making customers guess what they're looking at.

Portfolio Page

Every account now gets a public portfolio page at workreceipt.app/portfolio/[your-slug]. Showcase your best jobs, link to it from your business card or Google profile, and let your work speak for itself before a customer even calls.

Tip Collection

Customers can now tip directly from the report page via Venmo, Cash App, or PayPal. One tap, no friction. Set it up once in Settings and it appears on every report you send.

24/7 AI Support Chat

Launched a dedicated support center at workreceipt.app/support. Ask anything — features, billing, troubleshooting — and get an answer in seconds. Real human escalation available when you need it.

85 Trades Supported

Expanded trade-specific AI vocabulary to 85 supported trades — adding EV charger installation, kitchen and bathroom remodeling, biohazard cleanup, fire damage restoration, foundation repair, air duct cleaning, commercial refrigeration, paving, waterproofing, and more. Every trade gets its own vocabulary so the AI sounds like it knows your work, because it does.

Photo Annotations

Pro+

Draw arrows, boxes, and text labels directly on job photos before they go out to the customer. Point out the crack, label the part, circle the damage. Available on Pro and Business plans.

Team Workspace

Business

The Business plan now supports multiple users under a shared workspace. Jobs, customers, and reports are shared across your team. Each job shows who created it. Business brand and logo appear on every report, regardless of which team member sent it.

Customer Sign-Off

Customers can now digitally accept the completed work right from their report link. One tap, timestamped, logged. When they sign off, WorkReceipt automatically nudges them toward your Google Review page.

March 2026

Estimates with AI

Solo+

Create a professional estimate before the job starts. Describe the work, AI generates a line-item breakdown with labor and materials. Send it as a link for customer approval, then convert it to a WorkReceipt when the job is done.

Customer Follow-Up Emails

Pro+

Set a follow-up date on any job and WorkReceipt automatically sends a check-in email to the customer on your behalf. Keeps you top of mind without lifting a finger. Available on Pro and Business.

AI Report Rewriting

Not happy with how a section came out? Click rewrite and choose a direction: shorter, warmer, more technical, or longer. AI rewrites just that section while leaving the rest intact.

February 2026

Follow-Up Reminders

Set a follow-up date on any job — a vehicle inspection due in 6 months, an HVAC filter that needs replacing, a pool that needs a revisit. WorkReceipt sends a browser notification when it's time to reach back out.

Invoice Tracking

Solo+

Set an invoice total on any job, mark it paid when you collect, and track revenue on the dashboard. See total invoiced vs. collected across all jobs at a glance.

Quality Check

Before you send, hit Quality Check. AI scans your report for thin sections, vague language, or missing details and flags anything that might undermine the report's credibility. Takes about 5 seconds.

January 2026

Public Launch

WorkReceipt Goes Live

After 18 months of building, testing, and iterating — WorkReceipt opens to the public. Free plan available with no credit card required. Solo and Pro paid plans launch on day one.

AI-Powered Reports

Snap photos, speak notes, get a professional customer-facing report in about 60 seconds. AI writes in plain language, uses trade-specific vocabulary, and formats everything for your customer — not for you.

Before & After Photos

Upload job photos directly from your phone. They appear in the report in order, clearly labeled. Before and after photos make the work visible to anyone who wasn't there.

Share Links

Every report gets a unique, permanent URL. Text it to your customer, email it, or drop it in a group chat. They open it on any device — no login required.

December 2025

68 Trades Supported

Final expansion before launch: 68 supported trades, 51 with deep vocabulary guidance. HVAC, marine, electrical, landscaping, pressure washing, pest control, auto glass, pool service, and dozens more. If you do service work, WorkReceipt knows your language.

Multi-User Workspaces (Business Plan)

Business

Rolled out team workspaces for companies with multiple techs. All jobs from all team members in one shared dashboard. White-label reports — no WorkReceipt branding. Every job shows who created it.

AI Share Messages

WorkReceipt now drafts the SMS message for you. One tap generates a personalized text — customer's name, job type, the link — ready to send before you pull out of the driveway.

November 2025

Estimate Tool

Solo+

Pre-job estimates with AI-generated line items and a customer approval link. Describe the scope, AI fills in labor and parts with realistic pricing. Customer approves online. Convert to a WorkReceipt in one click when the job is done.

Push Notifications

Real-time browser push notifications for follow-up reminders and customer activity. No email required. The reminder finds you wherever you are — even on mobile.

Customer Question Form

Pro+

Customers can submit mileage, serial numbers, VINs, and other job-specific details directly from their report page. Their answers save to the job automatically.

October 2025

Quality Check

Added the pre-send AI scan that flags weak reports before they go out. Vague summaries, missing findings, thin recommendations — WorkReceipt catches them so your customer doesn't.

Follow-Up Reminders

Added the ability to set a follow-up date on any job with a personal note. The app handles the reminder. The first service business to call back after the job is usually the one who gets the next call.

Saved Items Library

Solo+

Save common labor types, parts, and services with preset prices. One tap adds them to estimates or reports instead of typing them every time.

September 2025

Customer Sign-Off

Added the ability for customers to digitally sign off on completed work from their report link. Timestamped, IP-logged, permanently attached to the job. The single most-requested feature from beta users.

Invoice Tracking

Solo+

Set a job invoice total, mark it paid, and track revenue across all open jobs on the dashboard. Simple — not a full invoicing platform, but enough for techs who handle payment separately.

Google Review Integration

Pro+

After customer sign-off, show a one-tap link to leave a Google review. The right moment, the right ask. Customers who just signed off on great work are the most likely to leave a five-star review.

August 2025

PDF & Print Reports

Solo+

Added clean PDF download and a print-optimized layout. For techs who need a hard copy on file, customers who want something physical, or jobs that require paper documentation.

Pay Invoice Button on Reports

Pro+

Added a 'Pay Invoice' button to the customer report page. Link to Venmo, Zelle, Square, or any payment URL. Customers pay before they close the tab.

Mobile Performance Overhaul

Rewrote several core screens after watching beta users struggle with slow load times on job sites. Photo uploads got 60% faster. The new job form now works comfortably on a phone screen in bright sunlight.

July 2025

40 Trades

Expanded trade-specific AI from 10 to 40 supported trades. Each trade added its own vocabulary, common findings, and recommended language patterns. A pool tech report should not sound like an electrician report.

Business Plan & Multi-Seat Pricing

Business

Introduced the Business plan with team support and white-label reports. Extra seats available at a flat per-seat rate. Designed for owner-operators with 2–15 techs.

June 2025

First Paying Customers

Paid Plans Go Live

Solo ($29/mo) and Pro ($59/mo) plans launch. Free plan stays real — 3 full reports per month, no credit card required. First paying customers sign up on launch day. We call each one to say thank you.

Logo & Branding on Reports

Pro+

Pro plan gets business logo on every customer-facing report. Your brand, not ours. For techs building name recognition in their market.

Payment Instructions on Reports

Solo+

Added a section to the customer report showing how to pay — Venmo handle, Zelle number, Square link, whatever you use. Reduces the 'how do I pay you?' text by a lot.

May 2025

Voice Notes

The most-requested beta feature: tap to speak, AI transcribes and rewrites. Service techs don't type notes at job sites — they talk. First voice-to-professional-report completed in under 90 seconds.

Customer-Facing Share Pages

Instead of attaching a PDF, every job now gets its own web page. The customer gets a link. No app, no download, no login — the report just opens. Clean, branded, mobile-friendly.

Report History Dashboard

Added a full job history dashboard. Search by customer name, filter by status, see which reports have been viewed and when. Started tracking view counts per report.

April 2025

First Dispute Win

A beta user messages us: their customer filed a chargeback on a completed engine job. They submitted the WorkReceipt link — photos, AI summary, timestamped — as documentation. The bank sided with the tech. $1,200 dispute closed. This is exactly why we built this.

Recommendations Section

Added a dedicated 'Recommendations' section to every report. AI fills it in based on your notes — things you noticed, things that should be addressed, follow-up work worth scheduling. Customers appreciate the honesty.

Before / After Photo Labels

Photos in reports now clearly labeled 'Before' and 'After' with visual separation. Simple change, big impact on how customers read and understand the work.

March 2025

Trade-Specific AI (First 10 Trades)

Added the first 10 trade-specific vocabulary sets: mobile mechanics, pool service, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, marine, landscaping, cleaning, handyman, and pressure washing. Each trade has its own common terminology, findings language, and professional phrasing.

Internal Notes (Owner Only)

Added a separate internal notes field that never appears on the customer report. For cost breakdowns, what the job actually involved, or anything else you want to document without sharing.

February 2025

AI Rewrites Rough Notes

This is the moment the product clicked. Instead of just displaying your notes, AI now completely rewrites them into a professional customer summary, a work-performed checklist, and a recommendations section. Techs type or say whatever they want — customers get something they can actually read.

Report Edit Mode

Added the ability to edit any AI-generated section before sending. The AI writes the first draft, you make it yours. Every field is editable inline.

January 2025

Private Beta

Eight service techs. Thirty days. Ninety-four reports sent. We read every single one and rewrote half the product based on what we saw.

Beta Group: 8 Techs, Real Jobs

Invited 8 service technicians — mostly mechanics and pool techs — to use WorkReceipt exclusively for a month. Ground rules: send a report on every job, no exceptions. The feedback was direct and the product got a lot better fast.

Customer Notifications

Added email and text delivery for report links. Techs wanted to send the report before they pulled out of the driveway. That's still the goal: customer has the link before you're back on the road.

Job Status System

Introduced draft / ready to send / shared statuses. Techs wanted to know at a glance what had been sent and what was still sitting. Dashboard now shows this clearly.

December 2024

Going Mobile-First

Rebuilt the entire experience around phone use at job sites. Every screen redesigned to work with one thumb while standing next to a vehicle. Removed anything that required a keyboard to be practical.

Receipt & Parts Photos

Added a third photo category: parts receipts, materials used, any documentation that supports the job. Appears in the report as supporting proof.

First 5 Trades Added

Realized early that a pool tech and a mobile mechanic describe their work very differently. Started building trade-specific prompts — the foundation of what would eventually become 85 supported trades.

November 2024

The AI Moment

Added AI to rewrite job notes into customer-facing language. Tested it on a rough set of mechanic notes: 'replaced alternator, checked belt, tested charging 14.1V.' AI turned it into two clean paragraphs a customer could actually understand. Showed it to a few techs. Everyone asked the same thing: 'How do I get this?'

First Outside User

First person we didn't personally know signed up — a marine tech in Texas from a Reddit post. He sent his first report and called the next day to say his customer texted back: 'This is the most professional thing I've ever gotten from a service person.' That kept us going.

October 2024

Prototype v0.1

First working version: upload photos, add notes manually, share a basic page. No AI. No polish. Just the core idea — a service tech sends a customer a link that shows what was done, with photos. Shared with 4 mechanic friends. All 4 said they'd use it.

The Core Question

Spent this month asking every service tech we knew the same question: 'Have you ever lost a dispute with a customer because you couldn't prove the work was done?' The answer was almost always yes. Sometimes it was a chargeback. Sometimes it was just an argument. Always frustrating.

August 2024

The Beginning

A completed job. A customer who said it wasn't done. A chargeback that stuck. No photos, no documentation, no proof. $760 gone. WorkReceipt started on a notepad that same week.

The Job That Started It

A routine service call — in and out in two hours, customer seemed satisfied. A week later, a chargeback arrives: 'Services not rendered.' No photos. No written summary. Nothing to submit to the bank. The dispute closes against us. The job cost twice — once to do it, and once to lose the money. There had to be a better way.

The First Sketch

What would it take to send a customer something professional before leaving the driveway? Something with photos, clear language about what was done, and a record the customer actually received it. That was the original concept — a proof-of-work receipt for service businesses. We called it WorkReceipt.
