WorkReceipt — Invoicing

The invoice writes itself. You already did the job.

You already documented what you did in the report. WorkReceipt turns that into a billable invoice — no re-typing the same work twice.

Free to start — no credit card required

What is a service invoice?

A service invoice is a billing document listing the work performed, the parts and labor charged, and the amount due, sent to the customer for payment after the job is complete. It's a different document from an estimate (priced before work starts) and a proof-of-work report (the story of the job) — the invoice's only job is getting you paid.

The problem with going without it

Re-typing the job into invoicing software wastes time

You already wrote up what you did for the customer report. Most owners then retype the same line items into a separate invoicing tool.

Paper invoices and mailed checks slow payment

Every day between “invoice sent” and “invoice paid” is a day of unpaid labor sitting on your books.

No single record of what's actually been paid

Without one source of truth, tracking which jobs are paid, partially paid, or overdue becomes a spreadsheet nobody keeps current.

WorkReceipt fixes it

Here's how invoicing works

One tap turns a completed job into an invoice

AI drafts the line items straight from the job's existing notes, photos, and report — nothing re-typed.

Customers pay by card from the same link

A payment button sits right on the invoice. No separate portal, no mailed check.

Paid status syncs everywhere

Mark an invoice paid and your dashboard revenue numbers update automatically — one source of truth for what's owed and what's collected.

Questions

Invoicing: frequently asked questions

Do I have to re-enter the job details to invoice it?

No. Any completed WorkReceipt job with a generated report has a Generate Invoice action — AI drafts the line items from the job's existing notes, photos, and report so you're not starting over.

How do customers pay?

Every invoice can show your configured payment instructions, and a card-payment button when you have one connected — the customer pays from the same link, no separate app.

Does marking an invoice paid update my dashboard?

Yes. Paid status, amount, and date one-way-sync onto the underlying job, so your revenue totals and outstanding-balance view stay accurate without double entry.

What plan do I need for invoicing?

Invoicing is included starting on the Solo plan at $29/month, alongside estimates, PDF export, and payment instructions. It isn't available on the Free plan.
